The student engages in a proficiency interview with a virtual avatar and student responses are recorded. The completed test is automatically uploaded to LTI’s secure system at the end of the test. The K-12 OPIc is available in two formats: K-12 OPIc Novice, which explores proficiency from Novice Low to Intermediate Low, and K-12 OPIc Intermediate, which focuses on proficiency from Novice High to Intermediate High. |

The OPIc is a criterion-referenced assessment. An ACTFL Certified OPIc Rater compares the candidate's recorded responses to rating criteria, as described in the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines (Revised 2012). |
