Purposes and goals of the program:
David Posnack Jewish Day School teaches Biblical and Modern Hebrew language to children in grades Kindergarten through 12. Students are immersed in Modern Hebrew through the NETA immersion language program (http://netahebrew.com/). The school purports that it is one of the first schools in America to adopt the NETA curriculum (http://www.posnackschool.org/judaic-studies-hs/ ). The purpose and goal of the David Posnack Jewish Day School and the NETA language immersion program are to master the Modern Hebrew language while bringing “harmony between Hebrew language, religion, [and] Jewish culture…the Hebrew language, the vehicle of Jewish renaissance…as the portal to our collective past, present, and future.”(http://www.posnackschool.org/philosophy-mission/) The NETA immersion language program requires licensed language instructors. Students learn to read, write, listen, and converse in Modern Hebrew.
