Purposes and goals of the program:
The Maharashtra Mandal of Los Angeles (MMLA) offers classes at three locations--Simi  Valley, Norwalk, and Irvine--to  promote the Marathi language  and culture. The syllabus for the Marathi classes emphasizes everyday spoken Marathi, numbers, Marathi script, grammar, reading, and culture.

MMLA is a member of the Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM) of North America. BMM is an umbrella organization of Marathi schools and cultural centers across North America. It strives to bring together the North American Marathi community as well as the global Marathi community. BMM promotes cultural activities and works to address the needs of various age groups in the Marathi community.
